The rates of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) have increased in the past five years, notably
- Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)
- Chlamydia trachomatis (CT)
- Neisseria gonorrhoeae (NG)
- Syphilis
However, there isn’t enough research examining non-HIV STIs. Expanded efforts are needed to explore new STI screening options to increase STI testing rates and examine the relationship between the individual, interpersonal, and community factors and STI risk.
Our project aims to
- Examine STI testing, treatment, and prevention preferences
- Examine STI prevalence and HIV/STI co-infection
