This study examines how to expand access to HIV prevention for Black women in the U.S. South by identifying multilevel barriers and facilitators shaping engagement with pre‑exposure prophylaxis (PrEP). Using qualitative data from Black women and healthcare providers in Central Florida, the project centers on lived experiences to better understand gaps in prevention.
Our project aims to
- Identify key individual‑level factors that influence PrEP awareness, interest, and use among Black women.
- Identify provider‑level factors and existing strategies that shape how PrEP is offered and delivered to Black women in healthcare settings.
